Scanners Designed for Museum Curators and Historical Preservationists

In an environment where the most caution and care is required for each historical item, book2net scanners have been designed around preserving and protecting these items to maintain integrity and their safety during the replication process. For items of large A0 size down to smaller A2 size, our book2net scanners offer a way to remove the concern and expense of travel for valuable and priceless items to be digitized, avoiding possible damage, breakage or loss of these precious historical pieces. Our scanners are designed for ease of placing items during the scan process allowing you to keep flat items flat or books in a “V” position to preserve book spines, headbands and structural integrity. Our book2net scanners deliver remarkable 2.5 and 3D images of coins, fabrics, objects, paintings, and even poisons or chemical elements.

Scanner Types

In a facility with such variety of dimensions we suggest the Hornet which offers a very large A0 size bed designed for paintings, full spread of old architectural documents, or other paper, leather or cultural costumes. The Flash and the Mosquito are both A1 size beds, The Flash, a high-performance device specifically designed for large-format, bulky or fragile materials like newsprint. The Mosquito is quick and gentle, designed for mass digitization projects with large-format and bulky items but offering convenient motorized elements for ease of use. The Ultra, our most popular scanner with it’s smaller A2 size is designed for use in the service sector as well as for fast, high volume reproduction and digitization. Like the Mosquito, the Ultra is equipped with motorized book cradle and glass plate allowing hands to be free to handle valuable items with care.
