Founded in 1981, plans for a new building were made by the Dubai Government in 2016. Designed in the shape of an open book, the library will hold over 1.5 million items, making it the largest library in the Arab world and also the most technological: over 2 million e-books will be available upon opening of the new library in 2020.
Project Background
Since the new library is ought to be equipped according to highest technological standards, a tender was issued over a variety of different digitization solutions. Our middle-east partner Naseej applied for the tender and since all requirements were met or exceeded, book2net devices were first-choice for the new Dubai National Library.
